Letters #006: Rest Easy
Hey you,
How’s it going?
I have a letter for you today based on truth I have found and commit to heart ever so often. I’m hoping you’ll find comfort and encouragement in it, if not now, perhaps sometime in the future. I pray it floods your heart with peace, light and a sense of security that can never be tarnished, dented or destroyed.
Can I just ask you again, how’s it going? Take a moment to think about it and maybe say your answer out or write it down. Was it anything along the lines of hectic, crazy, out of control, rough, overwhelming, frustrated… If yes, I want to say this to you
Rest easy, child.
Rest easy
I know there’s much stuff coming at you
I see your heart is troubled and filled with turbulence
Rumbling like you were a mining ground with ongoing excavation work
Like you are the sea bearing the forceful, fast, aggressive paddling of a boat by one in danger, desperately seeking safety
Like tremors when there’s an earthquake or from a detonated bomb
I know. I see it. And trust me I get it.
From one troubled and anxious soul to another
I hope you’ll listen to what I have to say
I’m aware it’s a lot easy to say “rest easy” than it is to live out
And maybe you’re sneering as you read this
But e get why! There’s a reason why I say to you, rest easy
A reason why I give this advice and why I can give this advice
It’s because of a truth I have come to find
Truth I hold on to dearly and commit to recalling to my heart and soul
Truth that has never failed me
Truth that gives me life, hope and peace
Truth I hope to leave you with today
It is this:
God is good
God is good at being God
God is great
God is greater than the greatest (he’s greatester… LOL)
God is in my corner
God, the creator of the universe is in my corner
God alone (nobody and nothing else) determines my life, my story and ultimately my legacy
And his testament is this;
“I have plans for you. Plans to prosper you, give you a hope and a future. My purpose is that you may have a rich and satisfying life.”
This is not to trivialize how you feel and what you’re dealing with
All of that is completely valid
But in my experience and findings from stories past
It’s just best to rest in him
All you’ll do in your power is really just make attempts
He, on the other hand, will fulfil, complete and perfect
It won’t always be easy but we can because of him, rest easy
That’s the truth I found and commit to heart. I hope you will too.
Love,
Yami
